Development · Film room + ice

One player.
One plan.
Two rooms.

Elite development happens in two places: the film room, where we break down your game frame by frame, and the ice, where we rebuild the habits the footage exposed. At NextEra they're one system — every session has a reason, and every game shows the result.

Every shift tells a story.
We help you write the next one.

01 In the film room — video analysis

Detail you can't
feel in the moment.

01

Positioning & gaps

See exactly where you are on every read — gap control, angles, and support — and where a small adjustment changes the outcome.

02

Decision-making

Slow the game down. We break down the reads behind each play so the right choice becomes automatic at full speed.

03

Habits under pressure

Identify the patterns that show up when the game gets fast, and the specific reps that rebuild them.

04

A plan, not just clips

Every review ends with prioritized focus areas, so practice time goes to what actually moves your game.

02 On the ice — private development

Every rep
with a purpose.

01

Position-specific

Training designed for your role on the ice — the skills, reads, and habits your position actually demands.

02

Coached at your pace

No waiting your turn in a group. Every minute is spent on your development, with feedback on every rep.

03

Skill under pressure

We build technique in game-like reps so it holds up when the pace and stakes are real, not just in isolation.

04

A measurable plan

Clear priorities tracked over time, so you and your family can see the game moving forward.

03 How it works

Film to ice
and back again.

  1. 01

    Assess the game

We start with an honest, film-based read on strengths, habits, and the highest-impact things to work on for your level.

  2. 02

    Build the plan

A position-specific development plan for skill, decision-making, and confidence — mapped to your goals.

  3. 03

    Train and review

On-ice sessions train what the film exposed; the next game's footage shows whether it held up. One loop, every week it tightens.

  4. 04

    Track the progress

Habits scored over the season in your private portal, one focus at a time, with a monthly report for the family.

04 Who it's for

Built for players
chasing the next level.

05 Questions

Good to
know.

Outside the Lower Mainland? NextEra Remote ↗

What footage do we need for video analysis?

Whatever your team already records — full games, shift packs, or even phone video from the stands. We work with any source, and your coach will show you the angles that make review easiest.

Can we do this remotely, outside the Lower Mainland?

Yes. Video analysis is fully remote by nature, and our NextEra Remote pathway delivers the same coaches, film reviews, monthly 1-on-1 video sessions, and family progress reports anywhere in the world.

How is private development different from a camp or clinic?

Group clinics coach the average; private development is built around one player — your position, your pace, your goals — with feedback on every rep. Camps are focused, seasonal, high-repetition blocks announced throughout the year.

How do film review and on-ice training connect?

They're one loop. The film shows exactly which habits and reads need work; the on-ice sessions train them with purpose; the next game's footage shows whether they held up. Nothing is trained without a reason, and nothing is reviewed without a next step.

How do we know it's working?

Progress is tracked in your player's private development portal — habits scored over time, one clear focus at a time, and a monthly report for the family built from real coach evaluations.
